Sweet Elena's Bakery and Café in Sand City gets sweeter in February with special promotions and offers. Buy an item on Sweet Wednesdays and get two free punches on your Sweet Elena's card. Also, the 20th customer each Wednesday earns a free breakfast or lunch.

Two Local Artists Hold Reception and Exhibition Showing at Sweet Elena’s Saturday, February 11th

St. John will be showcasing more than 20 pieces in total of art at Sweet Elena’s on Saturday, February 11th, 2012
both architectural in nature.

Suzanne St. John is a Sand City resident and artist. Her paintings, oil on canvas, are of the old and gone Sand City’s Sand Plant. They are some in some way "historical" and many locals will remember playing in these structures as youngsters.

Robin Winfield in her paintings uses a photograph and a “doorway” as a focus. She adheres the picture to a larger board (plywood) and paints out from the photograph creating a surreal or different reality surrounding the photo/focal point.

Sweet Elena’s will host a complimentary Open House Art Exhibition. Stop by and meet the artist, learn about their process, enjoy tastings of wine and enjoy some nibbles. Wine will be provided by Ventana Vineyards. The exhibition will take place at 465 Olympia Avenue in San City on Saturday, February 11th from
2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Sweet Elena's is an artisan bakery, where everything is made from scratch, reminiscent of home country cooking, using fresh and local ingredients. When Sand City initiated the local arts festival, Sweet Elena's started a tradition of showcasing local artists. A cozy gathering place, great art, and delicious food.
